Thank you from High School Students
Hey guys. Thanks to everyone who helped make our Earth Day event on April 23 possible. The high school students from Andrew Hill really appreciated it. Please know that you helped make an impact whether you realized it or not, and helped to change students' minds about the resources available for attending college and the opportunities for environmental studies at De Anza. Here are all the thank you emails we got, and if there are any more you received, please post them:
Dear WISE37,
Hello, my name is Emily Tran and i was one of the
students attending the Earth Day event at De Anza. i
would like to express my gratitude for your
contribution to our bus fares. THANK YOU.
Also, i would like add that i realllly enjoyed the
tour. I learned a great deal about the plants and
animals in our area. i would also like to send special
thanks to Khoa. You made our tour "AWESOME!!". ahaha.
Anyways, thank you and i hope to see you guys again.
Dear Seema,
Thank you for showing us around at DeAnza. We appreciate it so much. From showing us the biomes (Cheeseman), the KIRSH center, the presentation yesterday, and giving us fruit
It was awesome! I am learning the different biomes in my AP Bio class right now and I thought it was quite boring until i went to your guys' biomes and thought it was very interesting since I got to see them. Its different when its hands on. I really appreciate you guys raising up money just for us to come over for Earth Day.
I learned to appreciate the earth more, and to conserve as much energy as possible.
For example, I usually watch TV with my sky lights on. And i thought, wow those six bulbs must be wasting a lot of electricity. So, i got up and turned it off
From now on, I will do as much as I can to conserve electricity.
Once again,
Thank you!

Chris and Seema,
Thank you for the wonderful experience that you have provided to our Andrew P. Hill High School science courses. It would be a great idea to provide tours for other high schoolers, so they can open their eyes to the climate change issue that the world is facing and the many methods that an individual can approach the issue. The Kirsch building is an incredible design to present to students who are interested in architecture, and the Cheeseman ESA will fascinate students who care about the arts, environment, animals, etc. Again, thank you for your efforts; it was an immense learning experience and I hope WISE37 will continue to grow and prosper.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Tran
First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone
from the Kirsch Center that volunteered their time to
and money in helping us to be able to get such a
wonderful learning experience from all of you. I was
really surprised to learn as much as i did about the
little things that i can do to help make our world a
safer and ultimately better place to live in. I was
also very fascinated when i learned about how the
building was designed to most effectively and
efficiantly use the sunlight and what some of it was
made of; like how the toilet seats were made out of
recycled water bottles and the waterless urinals.
After learning about how people are not doing agood
job in keeping our world safe and clean, I am now
taking into concern many of my daily activities. For
example, not making unecessary car trips, not leaving
lights on when they dont have to be, i also realized
that i dont need to leave the water running the whole
time i am brushing my teeth. I learned so much out of
yesterday's trip to DeAnza, and i would like to once
again thank you for the experience. DeAnza is a
college that i am highly considering going to, and up
until yesterday, i would not have considered taking a
class in the Kirsch Center or getting involved with
Wise37; now, if i do decide to go to DeAnza, i will
definately be enrolling in a class there and getting
involved with my community.
Thank you for such an insightful learning experience,
and i hope to be seeing and joining such a great
group.

Thank you for organizing the Earth's Day field trip. I
really like the tour of the Career Center. I find it
fasinating that just by adjusting little details of
the building, you can save so much energy. Our tour
guide, Khoa, really open my mind of what is going on
such as animal cruelty and genetic modified food. I
mean I know that it's out there but I just don't
really want to think about it because I don't think
it's my responsibility. I can see now that our actions
will affect all of us in the future so we must do what
we can to change.

Dear Seema
Thank you for your time. The Kirsch Center was really
cool. I am really inspire by the building to get a
home that is environmentally friendly also. Everything
about the building was ingenious. I was looking
forward to going onto the bus that ran on vegetable
oil, but it is alright. Stuff will happen. Thank you
for the tour of the Kirsch center.

Hello!
I would like to thank you so much for the wonderful
presentation. I appreciate your efforts in making a
local change that can have a global impact. You have
honestly encouraged and inspired me to be more
environmental friendly. I even started fantasizing
about how my future house is going to be green! =)
Sincerely,
Janelle Yanogacio, Andrew Hill Student
P.S. thank you for the organic strawberries and
oranges. they were really really...REALLY delicious. i
think i'm going to start buying organic foods
I am a student from Andrew P. Hill High School and I sincerely thank you for allowing us to visit and for your informative presentation abotut the Kirsch Center and all the facilities. I really did learn a lot about both the De Anza campus and about ways to conserve energy and preserve the world's natural environments. I highly appreciate all your efforts in planning the Earth Day Event.
Thank You,
Helen N.
Dear Seema,
I just wanted to thank you for taking time out of your priorities to come to and to help out with the DeAnza Earth Day. The information that you presented was very infomative and WISE 37 is a great organization. That's a great accomplishment to start going green and putting organic foods in the cafeteria. But I'll keep this short and simple, so thanks again, I really mean it.

Dear Christopher and Seema,
Thank you for putting Earth Day together for us Bio
kids at Andrew Hill. I appreciate your input in making
this event possible because we all got to learn about
how you, at De Anza, conserve energy. I thought the
Career Center was awesome, and I definitely enjoyed
the tour trough the "garden." The desert and the c
actus were cool!
Thanks again,
Jessica Madrigal
P.S. Can you thank my tour guide, Vanessa, for me
please. Before I could thank her, we were gone.
Thank you for your time during the Earth Day event. I really like the
Kirsch Center. I never knew there can be so many factors that can
affect the efficiency of the building. I want a home that is similiar
to the Kirsch Center. I was really looking forward to going onto the
bus that ran on vegetable oil. Thank you for your time. It was really
exciting experience.

Thank you for organizing the Earth Day event for
Andrew Hill students. I enjoyed learning about the
various ways in which energy can be conserved, and I
am very impressed that De Anza College has taken so
many steps in order to both conserve energy and
promote changes in the community. My favorite part of
the day was the tour of the garden and subsequent tour
of the Kirsch Center, during both of which I was very
impressed by Khoa's enthusiasm and knowledge. Being
part of De Anza's Earth Day has really made me reflect
more on the numerous steps I could take to help stop
global warming. Thanks again for a wonderful day.
Sincerely,

After my tour in De Anza Community College i\'ve realized a lot about our environment, not just how it to sasve it but also how fast we are depleting our natural resources. This tour sparked an interest for me in environmental sciences. I may even consider majoring in something similar to this. Also I would like to thank you for providing us transportation to De Anza and back. Also I think your design for your shirts are great!
Dear Wise 37,
I would like to thank you all for the wonderful opporunity to tour and learn about the Kirsch Center. I personally found it fascinating how the tourguides knew so much about the building and explained the importance of each aspect of the building as well. In many ways, this tour has inspired me to start taking steps towards making Earth a better place to live. I plan to do all that I am able to do to teach others what i have learned at the Biotour. Thank so much for showing younger people like myself the importance and possible ways to help proctect and care for our planet.

Thank you so much for making my time at the Earth Day tour be such a great experience for me and my friends. Even though my school has a hard time with bus transportation, I would like to also thank you again for paying for transportaion to De Anza and back. I have always been interested in the environment and after today I now consider these little things, like paper towels get to me. Ps. I love your shirts! You should consider PayPal. I bet alot of people would consider buying a fashionable organic t-shirt through the internet world and still love the environment ten times more. Good luck on protesting and thanks again!

Dear WISE37 (especially Chris and Vanessa),
MY name is Annie and I am a student from Andrew Hill high School. We visited DeAnza yesterday during your Earth Day event. Thank you for paying for our bus. I enjoyed the campus tour and learning about your environmental studies program. It was very fun exploring your ESA because of the different climates and biomes you had.
I am really greatfull to Christopher Lepe, Seema and the WISE 37 club for letting us visit their campus and celebrate Earth Day. A very warm thanks to Christopher, Seema and their club for organizing our trip and paying for our trip. It really felt good to visit your campus and see how well you guys preserve the natural environment. It was neat to know the different types of species found on the campus and the ways that the Kirsch Center saved energy. Walking in the Cheeseman Environment Study Center felt like i was walking in a real forest.
Again, thanks for the wonderful trip. Hope to see you guys again and its fun celebrating Earth Day with you.
On behalf of my school and myself, i would like to give a big thank you to all those who was part of the Earth Day experience at De Anza College. Thanks for providing transportation. The shirts that you have look really awesome. I love the Kirsch Center, too. So thanks again for making my experience as well as my friends a good one.
